Other Ofsted reports which touch on test-driven schooling include one, on science teaching, published in June 2008: (http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/assets/Internet_Content/Shared_Content/Files/2008/june/sucinsci.pdf), which remarks that “in too many primary and secondary schools, teachers were mainly concerned with meeting narrow test and examination requirements” (ironically, of course, Ofsted inspections implicitly encourage this approach by focusing most of their attention on narrow test/exam measures).
An Ofsted report on primary geography, (http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/assets/Internet_Content/Shared_Content/Files/2008/jan/gins_cp.pdf), from January 2008, found that “pupils in many schools study little geography until the statutory tests are finished”.
